The Rooster With Webbed Feet

(Bobby Mitchell)
William Robert Mitchell
When I was a kid on my grandpa's farm we had a rooster that tried mating with a duck. So I figured what would have happened if these two had really mated. That my friend is how the "Rooster With Webbed Feet" was born.
Rooster with Webbed Feet

Well the rooster and the duck want to be in love but the farmer says they can’t
He don’t want no half-breed critter running around his land
So they fly up to the hay-loft for a little bit of privacy
Then a few weeks later out of an egg comes a Rooster with Webbed Feet

CHORUS
He goes Quack-a –do-dol-do, Quack-a-do-dol-do
Crows the Rooster with Webbed Feet
Quack-a-do-dol-do, Quack-a-do-dol-do
He ain’t got no family

He sees the other ducklings swimming around the pond
But when he jumps in away they swim as if he had a bomb
All the chickens around the hen house just cackle and they cluck
They don’t want him around wish he’d leave town he’s the offspring of a duck
CHORUS
All the animals in the barnyard think that he’s so fowl
So he struts out to the pasture to visit the moo cows
The cow and the bull they tell him, he looks just like a freak
They’ve never seen a rooster crow with a flat beak
CHORUS
Then one day when Jr. was smoking behind the shed
He leaves the matches laying behind he’d stolen from his dad
The Webbed Feet Rooster sees them an idea pops in his head
They won’t laugh at me no more because tomorrow they’ll all be dead

Then later on that evening the farmers goes to town
All the animals are sleeping in the barn when it burns down
The Webbed Feet Rooster flies up to the trees above the house
He giggles and laughs as all the animals cry for help

RECITE: Now the moral of this story making fun of others ain’t nice
And if you do you better be prepared to pay the price
Quack a do dol do, Quacka do dol do crows the rooster with webbed feet
Quacka do dol do, Quacka do dol do, don’t you ever mess with me.
